Microneedling is an active, multi-purpose treatment that is minimally invasive and requires no downtime. It is considered safe for those who are in good health and has been proven in many studies to be highly effective in treating skin concerns by stimulating the growth of collagen and elastin.

One of the best features of microneedling is that it offers almost instant results. The procedure plumps the skin, making it look radiant, and with multiple sessions, it can produce up to a 400% increase in collagen and elastin up to six months after treatment.

How Microneedling Works

Although it may sound scary, like acupuncture, microneedling involves the insertion of fine, short needles that start at a diameter of just 0.5 millimeters into the skin. They only enter the surface-level of the epidermis and are usually minimally invasive. Some numbing crème is applied approximately one- half hour before the treatment to make sure the procedure isn’t painful.

The tiny microscopic punctures to the skin create a balancing effect that produces the fantastic results most customers receive. The skin goes into a control phase and works quickly to rejuvenate new tissue, which helps reduce the appearance of sunspots, acne scars, stretch marks, and will noticeably reduce fine lines, crow’s feet, and even deeper wrinkles.

Some studies have shown that microneedling can reduce cellulite, and it is a great way to get brighter, firmer skin after just a single treatment. Your microneedling session may include the use of different SmoothhPro Microneedles in groups of 24, 36, and 42 pins. The procedure is used mostly on the face and will give you an overall younger-looking radiance with softer, supple skin.

What to Expect from Your Session

Before your session, our staff will provide a few reminders, including avoiding the use of retinol at least 48 hours prior to your treatment. You’ll also want to treat your skin gently beforehand, avoiding direct sun exposure for three days before and after your session.

You’ll want to make sure your skin is clean and dry when you arrive, and your technician will apply cleanser as well as numbing cream while explaining the overall procedure. The cream will seep into your skin over approximately half an hour, and then the treatment itself will take an additional half-hour.

Most patients feel little pain, and when the procedure is over, your technician will apply a soothing serum and hydrating face mask that will make you feel pampered. The numbing cream will wear off after a couple of hours, and your skin will feel new again.

There may be some residual redness and pinpoint bleeding, but they will subside quickly over the next few days. Remember to stay out of direct sunlight! Most notably, you should see a reduction in wrinkles and fine lines, replaced with a healthy glow and super-soft skin that will easily absorb whatever moisturizing or hydrating cream you apply.
